Saints need more depth in goal this summer
A quick look at the player contracts that are expiring this summer shows that two of the three players who will be out of contract are goalkeepers.

Maarten Stekelenburg’s loan expires at the end of June and Kelvin Davis is retiring when his contract ends at the same time. That leaves Paulo Gazzaniga as the only first team backup to number one Fraser Forster.
At 24 years of age and with a contract that doesn’t run out until 2019, the club obviously think highly of Gazzaniga and will be hoping he can continue developing in that time.
Southampton will probably look to bring in an older, more experienced keeper to play the role that Stekelenburg did this season, as backup to Forster.
Gazzaniga currently plays regularly for the development squad but it would be much more beneficial for his footballing education if he could get regular first team football with a Championship level club.
